You don’t know what to do in the next few days and you would like to discover the must-see events you shouldn’t miss?
Let’s begin with Trento, because this is the week of Feste Vigiliane. On Friday there will be the party of Trionfo Tridentino at Castello del Buonconsiglio, followed by the start of the historic procession, ending in Piazza Duomo with the official opening ceremony. There will be plenty of shows along the city streets, so many that it would be impossible to list them all.
We’d better remind you just of the main events of the Feste: Saturday is the day of the Tribunale di Penitenza, scheduled at 9:30 P.M. in Piazza Fiera, this year in a new guise. It will be followed by Magica Notte, centred in the Albere Park: here the best cosplayers will compete, and it will be possible for you to fight with Star Wars’ laser swords or to play quidditch, just like Harry Potter.
On Sunday there will be the traditional Palio dell’Oca and the Tonca at San Lorenzo bridge.
The festival ends on Tuesday the 26th, San Vigilio’s day: in the morning there will be the High Mass and the distribution of San Vigilio’s Bread and Wine, then in the evening, with the challenge between the “Ciusi” and the “Gobj”, and firework displays, the celebration will end. You can find the full program at www.festevigiliane.it.
Let’s move out of Trento and head toward the mountains, because on the 30th June the 2018 edition of “I suoni delle Dolomiti” is going to open with the performance of Graham Nash at the refuge Micheluzzi in Val di Fassa. We’re staying in the mountains because on Sunday 24th June we celebrate the European Day of the Refuge: at midday, 11 choirs from Trentino are going to perform in as many refuges of the Dolomites in order to pay tribute to the mountains that were selected by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. Regarding choirs, on Friday 29th June at 8:00 p.m. the Sat choir is performing at the Campana dei Caduti, the war memorial of Rovereto. As for theatre, we’d like to remind you of the play “Shakespeare at the castle”, performed on Thursday 28th June at 9:00 p.m. at the castle of Pergine Valsugana and the following day at the art work space Centrale FIES di Dro at 2:30 p.m. This will be the prologue of the 38th edition of Drodesera, with the artistic performance of Giovanni Morbin.
A few appointments in Alto Adige as well now: we’d like to mention the concert of the American songwriter LP, on Thursday 28th June at 9:00 p.m. in the gardens of Castel Trauttmansdorf in Merano, and the many events of Sudtirol Jazz Festival Alto Adige.
